look hard and if there’s something you like, make us a reasonable offer! We will work with you on delivery, too.
2009’s
*“Paulie”: Classy Vista X
Hollywood Taps GN, foaled 4/19/09. Paulie is a
characteristic buckskin colt with a stripe down his back and tiger stripes on
his legs and withers and a star on his forehead. He’s an eye-catcher who loves to be worked
with. He’s a full brother to our “A
Classy Hollywood” below and we’d expect him to top out at about 15.2H. Paulie is a
pleasure to work with and has already had a saddle on – just to acquaint him
with different things. He’s been
round-penned and ground driven. Built
like a “cow-horse”, nothing bothers him and he learns quickly. $2,500
*“Chip”: Simply A Star X
Hollywood Taps GN, foaled 4/19/09. Chip is a red dun colt with a blaze, 2
stockings in back and “paint-brush” spots on his butt. Expect him to get about an inch taller than Paulie (raised a full brother) and while he is also easy to
get along with, is more of a “tell me why I should do this” kind. Once he understands, you don’t have to show
him again, he’s got it. $2,500
*Both these colts stand to be trimmed, get their shots
and be wormed. One or both will be
gelded once fly season is over here.
2008’s
“Tank”: Lighter Than Aire (Truly
Ready X Catty Talk) X Hollywood Taps GN, foaled 2/23/08. Tank is a buckskin
filly with dun stripe, tiger stripes and two white socks in back. She’s a real sweetheart who had a little
accident as a weanling which caused the tip of her right ear to curl. She is bred and built to perform, so we don’t
think that ear tip will interfere much!
We expect her to be on the tall side for a Hollywood – as we have raised quite a few out of her dam and
15.3H is the smallest she has produced.
Tank already exhibits a great deal of athletic movement and we have just
started putting the saddle on her.
Ground work continues but we’ve been aboard twice now and she has not
offered to buck. $2,250
“Ribbon”: Rowdy’s Nora Kay (AQHA) X Hollywood Taps GN,
foaled 4/28/08. Ribbon is a creamy red dun filly with a
little star on her forehead and a little white sock on her left hind leg. Her ground work is well under way and she has
been saddled and ridden in the pen just twice.
She is a quick learner and a nice mover – has some “cat” and some
“scoot”. Expect her to finish about 15.1
– 15.2H. $2,500
“Montana”: Sindi’s Brite Shado
X A Classy Hollywood, foaled 5/29/08. Montana is a beautiful golden palomino filly with flaxen mane
and tail, blaze and no leg markings. She
is happy in the barn or out and loves attention. Even without a big blanket, this girl grabs
attention. Her color is brilliant and
she has a very nice head with a big, kind eye.
Montana is started under saddle and has been out back on the
trail already. Even though she was
foaled relatively late, she has a lot of maturity and her legs are very
solid. If her actions in the pasture are
any indication, she’ll be a spinner! We
are very pleased to have this filly as the first out of our son of “Hollywood”. $3,000
2007’s
“Gator-Aid”: Rowdy’s Nora Kay (AQHA) X C MityBrite Shado, foaled 5/08/07. Gator-Aid is
a chestnut roan gelding with a nice blaze on his face who
is about as laid-back as we’ve ever seen.
We had several in ’07 and this colt didn’t get all that much attention -
“just another colt” at the time! We’ve
sold the others now and I have to say, this is hands-down the quietest of the
bunch! Probably the real reason he
didn’t get the attention he should have – just too darned quiet. Just started him this spring and he was out
on the trail his second day under saddle.
If you’re looking for a quiet horse that will work for a youth, this guy
is it. He’s cute with a nice head, thin
neck and good conformation and expect he will be just
about 15.2H when he’s done growing.
Gator-Aid is the first one to the gate, in case you want him to do
something. $1,500
2006’s:
“Todd”: Rowdy’s Nora Kay (AQHA) X C MityBrite Shado,
foaled April 18, 2006, Todd
is a LOOKER! He has no blanket but is a bright
chestnut roan and “eye-popping” good even without a blanket. A beautiful head, long neck and muscles on
his muscles – he’ll Halter and Ride! Todd
is just started under Western saddle and is naturally slow and smooth with a
very nice natural flat head carriage and flat-knee movement at all gaits. $2,000
2005’s:
Dream in Shados - “Pretty”: Sindis Brite Shado X Justincredible
Dream, foaled 02/08/05, Pretty is a big, beautiful nearly white red roan filly
by Justincredible Dream (red leopard Maid’s Dream bred
stallion). She has the conformation,
color, movement, and size at about 15.3H to do it all! Pretty would have made a great youth/amateur
“all-around” horse if she hadn’t insisted on sticking her legs where they
didn’t belong as a youngster! She’s
sound as a dollar and actually has a lot of speed but has
a couple of scars that are bad enough to keep her out of the top in Halter
classes. We started her under saddle
late to make sure she would be sound. Now
started, she is quiet and calm as can be.
Loves the attention and works for her rider both in the pen and out on
the trail, she’s not spooked by anything we’ve come across from turkeys to deer
and cattle. She would make a great horse
for a youth but she does love to run and is very handy. $1,500
A Classy Hollywood - “Rabbit”: Classy
Vista X Hollywood Taps GN, Foaled 3/16/05, “Rabbit” is a pretty terrific palomino dun colt with
white snowcap blanket (no spots) and a blaze.
You could pretty much tell he’s a Hollywood with his first lap around
the stall! He can scoot, spin and stop
on a dime. He’s started his reining work
slowly so that he will be sound and working for years to come. We’ve bred him one time and have a beautiful
palomino, characteristic filly (see “Montana”). Looks like
stallion material to us. $7,500
Lighter Than Shado - “Miss
Friendly”: Lighter Than Aire X C MityBrite Shado, Foaled 3/31/05: Bay with big white blanket and “Plaudit” type spots,
with a star on her forehead. Her barn name
is absolutely a description of her personality!
She is the “social butterfly” of the herd. At 15.3H with a bunch of muscling, she’s big
enough to push her way around but would much rather “we all just get
along”! Loves people, is progressing
nicely under saddle and is about as nosy as they come, it’s just nice that she
happens to be a “looker”! $2,500
2004’s:
Vistas April Shado: Lighter Than Aire X C MityBrite Shado:
Filly foaled 4/01/04. April is quite a dandy - tall and muscular with a
personality that matches her tri-colored leopard coloring – she’s a quick study
and wants to be sure you know what you’re asking for! Once she’s convinced – no need to explain it
again, she’s got it! A beautiful petite
head with a star at the end of a long, lovely, refined neck and legs that set
her up above the crowd! April is started
under Western saddle but would easily go English. She has full brothers and sisters who jump,
drive, work cattle and ride trails. $2,500
Others for sale:
VISTAS VELVET DAY (Non-Characteristic): Wapiti Bay (Go Bay Go and Wapiti) X Vista’s
Daybreak ApHC (Go Bay Go and Freckles Bandit). Mare foaled 4/17/01. “Velvet” is a
blue roan with silver roaning from head to toe. As her mom is a gray, we would expect this
filly to end up that way but right now, she is a beautiful “blue/black” that does
not turn brown - even in the sun - and is a real stand-out in the pasture. She has a beautiful head and is an athletic
15.3H tank. She is bred to perform and,
like her dam, we’d expect her to make a great broodmare. Velvet is non-characteristic but both Dam and
Sire are already on file, so she could be CPOd. This mare is just started under saddle and we
do not have time for her. $800
VISTAS KATIE: C MityBrite Shado X Classy Vista: Mare foaled 4/09/01. “Katie” is a
coppery red roan with a blaze. She did
well in Halter futurities as a weanling and yearling and was broke to ride as a
two-year old. Since being broke to ride
she has been ridden in the show pen only once and while she didn’t win the
class, she did very well for her first time out. At home, she is the dependable horse we can
put anyone on, matching her speed and behavior to the skill of the rider. She is a beautiful mare with nice head, neck,
legs and overall conformation she can still do well in Halter and can ride
trails with the best of them. Katie has
been ridden at the Eminence, MO trail ride twice as well as Big Piney, Southern Illinois and Jubilee.
She is regularly ridden on trails here at home and we use her to pony
young horses. $3,500
Broodmares: Since we currently have more horses than we can
comfortably handle, our mares are all open for early breeding next year.
CLASSY VISTA: Joker’s Nava Doll (ApHC) (Joker B and Navajo
Britches) X Superstition Rowdy (AQHA) (Goldseeker
Bars and Impressive): Mare foaled 5/09/90. “Classy” is a beautiful, solid “blood bay” with a star on her
forehead and no other markings. She
has never failed to produce a colored foal for us. Classy has developed “heaves” which is only
active during the spring and we control with a homeopathic feed
supplement. She is sound for breeding,
breeds easily and settles the first time. She loads and trailers quietly, loves
attention and is a pleasure to have around.
$1,000
ELUSIVE LOU SILK: Superstition Rowdy (AQHA) x Silkey
Lou-Silk: Mare foaled 4/22/93. “Lou” is a
pretty red chestnut with some light roaning over her
body. She stands about 15.2H and is very
quiet to be around. Lou has produced some
very nice, quiet tempered foals for us that are just as nice as she is and have
gone on to be exceptional athletes in Dressage, Hunter and Western Pleasure. $2,000
GLORIOUS DREAM:
Hotrod Rosie ApHC x Dream
Hustler ApHC: Mare foaled 5/26/99. “Glory” is a
pretty, dark bay roan with a star and stripe and just a little white on her
right hind pastern. She measures 15.2H
and is a very nicely put-together riding mare.
Glory has produced two foals out of our “Gator” for us. The first a bay colt with a
nice white blanket and then a coal black characteristic filly. She is broke for an experienced rider. $1,500
MIGHTY JINNY JO (ApHC): Mighty
Joe Man X Jinny Chic:
Mare foaled 4/27/91. “Jinny” is a
compact (15H), chestnut mare with a dun stripe down her back and some “catty”
moves. She is a quiet mare who is a
great “Mom”. Her first foal for us was a
beautiful, bright red chestnut colt with a big white blanket and spots. Jinny’s bloodlines include some of the best in the business
(Sully “B” Hancock, Mighty Go Man, Sorrel Flo (AQHA)
and Miss Del Rio Jo (AQHA)) and although she is non-characteristic herself, can
throw some nice color. We have more
broodmares than we can use, so Jinny is open and very
reasonably priced at $250!
ROWDYS NORA KAY (AQHA): Superstition
Rowdy x Joy In June: Mare foaled 3/05/98. “Nora” is a
huge muscled, chestnut mare with a blaze and one white pastern. She puts great size and muscle on her
babies. They have all had great
temperaments and are smart enough to learn very quickly. Nora is HYPP N/H but and built like a ”brick house”.
Since we have only bred to our stallions, she has produced no positive
get for us. $2,500
SHADO OF SINDI: Miss Sindi Sea (AQHA) X Ha-Dar Shado
(ApHC): Mare foaled 4/11/96. “Sindi” is a bright
red chestnut with some roaning and a star, stripe and
snip and is just 14.3 hands. She is
registered non-characteristic but has never failed to produce characteristic
foals. She had a beautiful palomino dun
filly by Hollywood Taps GN in 03 and a gorgeous palomino dun colt with a white
blanket, blaze and 4 socks in 04. $1,000
SILKY HYJACKER:
Super Hyjacker
X Elusive Lou Silk: Mare foaled 4/21/2003. “Silky” is a
blue roan with a wide white blaze standing about 15.2H. Silky is a very sweet mare who
gets along with everyone and is a “people-horse”! She loves attention and is well-behaved for
trimming, shots, worming and most anything else you’d like to do with her. She is a beautiful color and flashy with her
wide blaze and socks on 3 of her 4 sound legs.
Unfortunately, she does not grow a full mane or tail and we have not had
time to start her under saddle. This is
a mare that would make a great project for someone who had the time. Ground work is done and she has been
saddled. She stood quietly and never
cared to buck but we have too many here to keep working with her. She’s a bargain at $500
SIMPLY A STAR: Skip Away Babe (AQHA) X Star J. Mare foaled 1/24/97; “Lacey” is solid chestnut with a big blaze and 2
“almost” socks on her hind legs. This
mare won lots of Halter futurity classes as a weanling and yearling, was
started under saddle as a 2-year old, laid off when she came to our place in
’99, bred in ’00 to “Style Me Bright” and produced a wonderful red roan
Pleasure filly. Bred to Hollywood and in ’04 produced a gorgeous buckskin
(non-characteristic) colt who is an all-around open show champion. Her ’09 colt is listed above – “Chip”. She settles just fine with live cover but Doc
says she’s allergic to the extender, so no shipped semen for this gal! Lacey is a wonderful Pleasure mare and she
could go to the show pen with a bit of “polishing” and do well. $2,000
SINDI’S BRITE SHADO: C MityBrite
Shado X Miss Sindi Sea
(AQHA). Mare foaled 3/09/98. “PHAT” is a
solid 15.3H massively muscled mare who did very well at Halter as a yearling,
two and three year old. We started her
under saddle but never finished her because we put her to work as a
broodmare. PHAT has done very well for
us in that department. Her foals all
arrive with “muscles” and do very well in Halter futurity classes. They have all broke out very easily and are
easily-trained riding horses. Several of
them have gone to 4-H kids and are doing great things for youth as “all-around”
horses. So far, they all excel at Halter
and Western Pleasure. $3,000
